I started questioning religion when I was 12. I don’t even remember why. I realize that some people just…. don’t. I’ve argued with countless people about organized religion in general, and after even the best debates, they often say it ‘comes down to faith’. And that they ‘just know’. Yet that’s the answer from so many people of every faith all over the world. If that was a logical argument, then there would be countless gods. Every religion would be true. I’m not saying this couldn’t be the case, but I don’t understand how ‘I just know’ and ‘it comes down to faith’ is a justified answer. It’s not something you can discuss objectively with someone, so it seems like it’s kind of a fool-proof way to ‘defend’ your faith without having to think. This sounds harsh, but I’m confused by this reasoning. Thoughts?
