This is not necessarily a gay thing. In fact, straight people have public sex quite often as well. In fact, it’s often glorified in movies about pop culture. I’m sure we all remember those movies about the guy and girl in the backseat of a car at the movie theatre, or the pair of lovers far and out in the woods with a picnic blanket, or the set of lovers in the first-class restroom on an airplane just taking off. The difference is that when gay men do it (and believe me, the percentage that do is quite small. There are better smelling places to have sex, and most of us prefer it in a bed at home), it’s counted as sleazy and sickening. But, when straight couples do it, it’s ‘romantic’ or ‘a wild passionate exursion’. For gay men, it’s considered the stuff of prison logs, but for straight women, it’s the subject of romance novels.
