It’s true that your religion characterizes pre-christian religions as ‘worshipping statues’. There is NO religion in human history which worshipped their statuary by themselves. Statues have always been created to symbolize their diety, or other religious concept. Oftentimes, people believed their statues or amulets to imbued with religious (or magical) power. Absolutely no different from Christianity.
