It is ture,most(but not all!) black people are interested in thier own music , movies, sports etc. But I on the other hand try to be a little diffrent ( b/c I’m tierd of following the same old traveled path). I try to enjoy other types of music, movies and sports. Also IT is something that has to do with black pride. For instance most top selling magazine show people who are either white or very lighted skinned black people. Seeing a magazine ( movie or TV show)that shows blacks being inteligent, the main charater or anything other than just dim witted, a big laugh or too ghetto to fit in is refreshing and it makes me feel good about myself. Sometimes when hearing about racial profilling or any other negative attention, It can be disheartening and eventually can make you feel as thought you are not important ( to say the least). So seeing and hearing other blacks that are beautiful or have thier own little fame , can be a huge uplifting for our spirits.
