Most people did not even own slaves. Most families don’t have much if any money or propety to pass down. My parents don’t own any property or have anything but possessions to pass down, yea my grandparents own a house but they bought in 1979 and I’m not totally sure theyve paid it all off. My question is, why do some of the people who live in the “ghetto” go buy really expensive cars and then complain about where they have to live? I know most don’t but many do and it doesn’t make any sense. And yes slavery was a denial of rights and abilities but you have to take into account that many slaves did not leave their previous masters.
