Jesus never said He was the only way to heaven. He knew that wasn’t true. What was meant by that statement is: If you follow the instructions that were given by Jesus, you can reunite with God. When asked by his disciples what was the most important of all his instructions he replied: ‘Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and soul.’ Every statement attributed to Jesus in the Bible was not spoken by Jesus. You posed two very good questions concerning the statement Jesus is alledged to have made. If you are going to study the Bible, keep the same questioning attitude to arrive at what Jesus possibly meant by the statements attributed to him. The Bible has been corrupted so much, it must be taken in its essence, and that essence is the to try and develop love for God. Of course, first you have to find out who God is, and you have to look into the Vedic Literatures of India to find that out.
