in irish, the days of the week sound much like french – de luain, de mairt, de cheadaoin, deardaoin,de haoine, de sathairn, de domhnach, and i was under the impression the days of the week sounding like these actually came partially from the norse gods ( thor, freya etc) i could be wrong though!
