i have a brother that is mentally challenged with other problems on top of also. the reason why they rock back and forth is because they r lonely have nothin else to do feel shut out. or sometimes they dont even notice they r doing it. its like their brains not registering that their bodies moving so they dont know they r actually moving their body. my brother looks like a normal kid but u notice is mentally challenged when u sit down to have conversation with him. well i hoped i answered ur question and u understand alittle about mentally challenged people.
