we smokers stand out on the street and toss our butts in the gutter. if this offends you, i have to ask, ‘what can be found in the gutter?’ dirt, candy wrappers, dead leaves, landscaping refuse, roadkill, empty water bottles, automobile leakings, and, oh, yea, the gutter. if there were no cigarett buts in the gutter, would you let your child play there? if you dropped a cookie in the gutter would you observe the 15 second rule or would you just leave it? you know, in the gutter. you see my point? when we hear somebody complain about smokers smoking on the street and tossing their butts in the gutter it makes us wonder if that could possibly be what you’re offended by, or if you’re realy offended that we’re still allowed to smoke at all. you should remember that the reason that we’re on the streets in the first place is because people like you pushed us there. if you let us back in, we’d be pleased to use the ashtrays.
