sunburns really suck. the melanin in your skin is literally blocking radiation. when a white person gets overexposed, it’s pretty much the same thing as low-level radiation sickness. you feel nauseous, there’s cellular damage, and it hurts like hell. so the suntan lotion obcession is hardly just aesthetic. it’s a health thing, primarily.
