Veronica24534ParticipantI moved to New Orleans from Maryland 20 years ago and I never had your problems. The problems I had adjusting to the south was: 1. Language–we had just driven into town and all we wanted to do was find a place to eat, shower and go to bed. At the resturant my brother said he wanted an orange soda and the counter person asked him if he wanted and ‘er-ange’ drink. 2. The heat and 3. racism–white on black and black on white. As for what you are writing I don’t think you can say it happens only in the South.
