TonyaMemberok, firstly, blacks are stereotyped to wear certain hairstyles, or have a certain hair texture. This is a common misconception. Just like you, when you put the coil-like braids/extensions in your hair. Think about it? How did braids, in your understanding, ever become a ‘black’ look, or a part of ‘black’ culture. You are putting labels on things that have no identity. Hair? come on. Get real! If i were to straigten my hair, all i need is a blow dryer and a brush. I am black. But white ppl tend to have this idea that, ALL black ppl have to go through some ritual to get their hair straight. And most white ppl consider straight-textured hair, a part of white culture, which it is clearly not. White females can wash their hair, and blow dry it, and it would not come out flawless, as seen in many hair-product hyped up commercials, but rather frizzy and dull. so you see, white hair has the same routine of blow drying it in order to aquire a straight look, just as mine does, but because im black does that make me a black female trying to ’embrace’ white looks? NO! I am who i am. You are who you are. Dont put labels on things that are materialistic, and that have no life or say. especially something as dumb as hairstyles.
