Tara-B27415ParticipantAll children (white, black, etc.) stare at whatever is different and interesting, until they learn that it is not polite. They learn by observing, so it’s not such a bad thing; they just have to learn how to be more subtle and sensitive. I’m a white person who works in a black neighborhood. Black children stare at me all the time. They’re interested in who I am and what I’m doing. I encourage their interest. I love their unabashed enthusiasm and hugs.
