    Here in Germany, most people don’t understand how so many Americans could re-elect a President who is so obviously incompetent for the job he’s doing. We don’t trust your judgement of people – you are quick to see Arabs as terrorist, French as arrogant, Canadians as backwards. The U.S. is the most powerful nation on Earth; why is it that they seem to have so little insight in things? Also, we’re intimidated by your apparently violent religiousness. Don’t get me wrong – most people around here are Christians, too. But if one of our politicians would publicly admit he truly believed he was an instrument of God, even in most backward Bavaria, people would laugh at him for allowing his faith to overshadow his competence as a politician. Your current President is probably the best example of what we fear about the U.S. – a rather simple mind, the will to use lethal force to accomplish his goals, and a fundamentalist religiousness.
