Unfortunately there are people out there that abuse this symbol and use it as a symbol of hatred and I refuse to fly it as a symbol of heritage although I had an ancestor who fought on the southern side. I will not fly a symbol that is abused. The only symbol I fly as a symbol of my heritage is the 1st Conferate States Flag because it doesn’t cause as much of a fuss. I hate when people abuse the battle flag.
