This is a Gender role. Regardless of wether you are born as boy or girl people have an expectation of how you will act and what you will value. These expecations are treated like rules that people don't feel strongly enough to enforce as laws. In the past several decades traditional gender roles have started to blur and now the reasoning for all of the rules aren't nearly as clear as they used to be. In the end I think people expect women to value their virginity and not sex and men are expected to value sex. If you're really interested in the roots of where this came from you can do some research on Victorian era society, if you just want to know why you feel pressure to fit into a certain role it just because that's how people feel best organizing society. If you want to be promiscous then just accept that some people will want to dole out some sort of punishment for it like name calling, or not wanting to be your friend, and decide if it's worth it to you. It also could be turned around and you could be a man who values your virginity and be in the same situation.
