Many countries do not allow gays in the military. Case in point: Britain is currently undergoing its own “Don’t ask, don’t tell” debate. As for the separate showering and sleeping facilities for gays in the military, think about that: They’d turn into miniature Sodoms. And besides, under the current rules if you applied to live in a gay-only dorm you’d end up revealing yourself as gay and end up drummed out of the military.
