Larger rear ends are actually storage areas for excess lipids and fluids; therefore, this bodily feature ensured the survival of many of our African ancestors during brutal famines. Our people would still receive energy and hydration if no food or water was available by metabolizing stored fats and water. Our Caucasian counterparts have pale skin because many of their ancestors resided in cold northern countries. Pale skin absorbs vitamin D more efficiently in climates that lack sunny weather.
