SheilaParticipantI understand how you feel. I had my son when I was 19 and everything changed. All of a sudden I was in this body that I didn’t know. I had hips and other things. I hope you don’t go the way I did: I just let it go. In the last few years I have finally gotten to the point where I have accepted my body and now I am to the point where I want to try and change it to the better to be healthier. So hopefully I can help you get there faster. You will never go completely back to what you were before, because when you carry that baby your body changes, but this is not necessarily a bad thing. The stretch marks are badges of honor that mothers wear – I don’t show mine off, but they are not evil things to get rid of. There are supposed to be lotions that can reduce them, but I never had the money to spare so I don’t know. I met my husband after having my son and he doesn’t seem to mind them. You can perhaps do exercises to tone up your tummy area, as most things we do don’t affect that area often, even carting around children.
