There are two people who have provided you with the correct answers. Haute Couture Fashion shows are meant to be very dramatic and should leave an impact on you. Therfore, the whacky ensembles.But also, fashion has been revisited too many times. Now in a bid to be different and to invent something that hasnt been done in the past, crazy, unwearable costumes are created and then more wearable, toned down outfits are derived from them. e.g. an outfit made of torn shreds of cloth has been translated to torn and ragged egded jeans. and my other point is that no one can judge anyone else on being backward and ignorant. The person who posed this question in the first place isnt being very open minded abt fashion , which is a profession for some. and thats why this gentleman was being patronising. I think, to make her realise she shouldnt be judgemental. 🙂
