When my husband and I had been dating for about a year, he asked me if I would shave for him. I was a little leary, but did it anyway because it was something he seemed to really want. Turns out though that he hated it! He said it made him feel like he was having sex with a kid. And when it started growing back out it was quite uncomfortable for both of us. Now I just keep it neatly trimmed with only a patch of short hair near the top, and he really likes it. So, my advice to you would be to just start out by doing a little trimming and see what he says about that before going and shaving the whole thing.
