SR28478ParticipantTen percent is a very low tip for a drink, especially if it’s free. Fifteen percent – minimum – is the standard for tipping the bar or waitress. I don’t know where people picked up the 10 percent notion. I worked as a cocktail waitress, and my co-workers and I seldom received less than a dollar on a single drink, which I believe is appropriate. Coins are a hassle and sort of insulting. And if you’re getting the drink free, you can probably spare a dollar for the server.
