Ray28689ParticipantI think that one of the reason is increased opportunity. Men in general are very sexually compulsive, so there is an increased opportunity for infidelity. For example, if I’m at a party or in a situation with other gay men, there is an increased chance of others being ‘open’ to flirting. If there isn’t enough consequence to keep me from ‘straying’, and it looks like a sure thing, it may happen. Contrast that with a hetero male–he may be at a party, but it’s less likely that a woman will be as receptive to his intentions. Bottom line–men are dogs and when you get two together, there’s more liklihood to be sparks. That being said, NOT ALL gay men cheat! It’s rooted in honesty and communication. It’s not uncommon for gay couples to discuss and agree upon ‘parameters’ in which the partner can express himself (or herself)sexually with others while still respecting the contraints of a committed relationship.
