In Romans 4:3 we are told that Abraham was justified through faith. In simple terms he was saved because he believed God, as we do. Those before Jesus, Abraham, Moses, David, etc., were saved because they believed God’s promise of a coming Messiah. We believe in God’s promise too, and that it was fulfilled in Jesus the Messiah.
