The only Bibles I know of are put there by the Gideons with the permission of the hotel operators. This is to make the Bible available to travelers. The Gideons are a non-denominational organization dedicated to making the Bible available to everyone. This is their only purpose. They also provide Bibles to members of the armed forces who want them, and have exported thousands of Bibles to Russia and other countries.
