OrlandParticipantI am a parapalegic and use crutches and a wheelchair. A while back my car was broken into, and they stole my placecard. I didn’t get another one for about a month, and until I would unload my wheelchair out, people would give me the same dirty looks. It’s actually good, because they are just looking out for people with disabilities. I have much respect for those who don’t even need the parking but still give dirty looks.

OrlandParticipantI think it has a lot to do with the amount of money it takes to participate. I know a few African Americans who participate in drag racing, and they all own repair shops. I think most of us participate in low-riding because of the recognition, and though it is expensive, it’s more practical for us to spend the money on a car that we can drive on the avenue.
