Normand19946ParticipantAnother possible reason is that part of the social upheaval of the ’60s engendered a feeling among men that the American woman has become too independent, something that to a traditional-minded man may not be attractive. Another possible reason may be that the ’60s gave more men then ever before the “OK” to resort to mail-order brides, something that prior to then was probably seen as a “loser’s” approach to marriage.
