NormandParticipantI happen to believe that the homosexual lifestyle is a choice. I’ve heard the argument that “who would choose such a life given societies negative view of this lifestyle, the hardships, such as losing friends and even families…” etc. But the same thing can be asked of any activity society disapproves of; writing hot checks, embezzling, dealing in the drug trade, etc. Some people choose activities that have a negative consequence for no other reason than “it feels good.” So the question then becomes, if homosexuals admit this is a choice, as demonstrated by your ex-gay friend, why shouldn’t society grant the sexual proclivities to other sexual minorities such as NAMBLA (North American Man Boy Love Association)? On what basis can we deny their choice to associate? Once we start breaking old taboos, once we say this restriction is arbitrary, what is to stop others from also jumping on the band wagon and saying, “Yeah, but I’m a suppressed xxx too, I need my civil rights!” Just a thought…
