Niruj M.ParticipantI would say that how you identify is something you should decide yourself. Granted, various labels are seen as fixed, definite and mutually exclusive, but in my opinion that reflects more the socio-political situation right now than anything else. The best answer I can give is a quotation I came across recently (though I don’t agree with it totally): ‘Once homophobia declines, we are bound to witness the emergence of a homosexuality that is quite different from the homosexuality we know today. With the strictures on queerness removed, and same-sex relationships normalized and accepted, it is very likely that more people will have gay sex but, paradoxically, less of them will identify as gay.
