I’m sorry, but I couldn’t help but laugh at this. Look, just don’t trust anything any travel book ever says about Australia. It might be true, but there’s a 95% chance that someone is bullshitting you every time. If you want to know the truth, come to Australia, observe, and keep your mouth shut until you work it out. Basically, people know nothing about Australia, and it seems a lot of the time they don’t want to know anything real about Australia, so Australians (like me) get over it and spread funny stories to get a laugh. Might seem weird, but oh well. Think about it. Why WOULD you want to just go to a pub and advertise that you think you can fight anyone? A person who did that would just jump right in and start swinging.
