Misho20489ParticipantIt’s not just whites who are attracted to blondes. And I have seen women of all ethnic backgrounds who bleach their hair. Blond hair is a recessive (gene) trait, and therefore is rare and unusual in most areas of the world, whereas brunettes are much more common. Anything rare becomes more valuable (attractive?) and gives cause for it to be copied. This happens with a lot of things. However, I agree with A.C.C that it is a cultural preference. I once considered living in the Middle East permanently and was politely informed by a member of my host family that it was not a good idea. You see, it would be very difficult for them to find a husband for me, as I was too fair, too thin, too tall and my hair was too unusual (blond). I think they were telling me I was too ugly – although by Western standards, I was considered attractive.
