Mick-JParticipantEuropeans rarely ventured more than a few kilometres from the African coast where they set up forts, ports and processing centres. Many slaves were taken to the Europeans by other Africans who sold their enemies for supplies and equipment the Europeans brought with them. The Africans must have seen the people they sold chained and loaded onto ships. Africans were not entirely innocent. There is still slavery in Africa today with Sudanese Muslims taking Sudanese Christian women and children as sex slaves.
