It is believed that there are 3 stages of heaven. The best one to go to is the Celestial Kingdom. To go to the Celestial Kingdom, you must abide by the standards set by the church. And you also have to repent for your sins. The second best is the Terrestrial Kingdom. To get here you have to abide somewhat to the standards. For example: If you are an alcoholic, and Mormon, and haven’t repented of this and tried to quit you go here. The third is the Telestial Kingdom. This is for souls that have broken one or more of the Ten Commandments. But to get to these kingdoms, you first go to either Paradise or Spirit Prison. Spirit Prison is more for people who haven’t been baptized into the Mormon religion. Those who go to Paradise are immediately judged for each of the three Kingdoms. To get out of spirit prison, a person that is living can get baptized for the other’s spirit in one of the many Mormon temples situated around the world. It becomes the spirit’s choice as to which they want to get out of Spirit Prison and become Mormon and go to Paradise to get judged.
