You say you ‘believe’ being gay is an ‘active decision’ because you’re an ‘orthodox Christian’. Well, I’m sorry to break the news, but your belief is simply wrong. You say you are straight. Was that an active decision? Was there a time when you liked men and then ‘decided’ to like women? I’m sure the answer is ‘no’. You liked girls and women ever since puberty. Why on earth would you think it’s any different for gay people? Folks with attitudes like yours don’t even appear to have thought much about their own lives, let alone the lives of others. As for those studies, the great and growing weight of scientific evidence is that sexual orientation is in-born, not the product of upbringing. Their is no reputable evidence on the other side. Being Christian is just no excuse for checking your brain at the door. And by the way, if your conception of your faith is that it sets up a conflict with love, I respectfully suggest you reconsider your religious dogma. I can’t begin to imagine how awful it must be to go through life with a ‘faith’ that unspeakably ugly.
