But I also want someone who can empathize with a diverse group. Everything you said is true. However, until our elected leaders start legislating for the good of the nation instead of their re-election it won’t matter. Smarter is not always better.

I can only speak for myself, but I wouldn’t have any problem with it. I don’t understand why more women don’t. I suppose many are still hung up on not looking desperate and playing the female role…but c’mon. Any guy who has a problem with you initiating conversation is probably not a guy you’d want to talk to anyway.
