Try reading ‘Biological Exuberance: Animal Homosexuality and Natural Diversity ‘ by Bruce Bagemihl. It puts to rest the myth of your question. Male gorillas courting and copulating with each other…grizzly bear families with two mothers…same-sex pairs of flamingos…Homosexuality in its myriad forms has been scientifically documented in more than 450 species of mammals, birds, reptiles, insects, and other animals worldwide. He also documents how scientists have sometimes been afraid to report their observations for fear of recrimination from a hidebound (and homophobic) academia. It’s out in paperback. But if you don’t want to challenge yourself that way, check out this story on CNN: (http://cnn.com/NATURE/9909/18/gay.vulture.parents/index.html). It shows how two gay vultures make better surrogate parents as the zoo tries to help out an endangered species.
