Melissa DParticipantThe reason most Christians worship on Sunday goes back to pagan roots. The ‘sun’ in Sunday should give you a hint. The Roman Catholic Church changed the day from Saturday to Sunday to try to get more pagans (sun worshipers) to join the church. This applies to many of the other holidays we celebrate such as Christmas and Easter. In Genesis in the Bible, there is reference to Nimrod, but that doesn’t tell you much about him. History tells us that when he died, his widow (a prostitute) got pregnant. One morning she woke up, and the sun was shining on her belly; she told everybody that Nimrod had been reincarnated as the sun and he had impregnated her. The devil had a counterfeit for Jesus long before he was born. Anyway Tammuz, her son, was born on December 25. Since the pagans already celebrated the birth of the son of their sun-god on that day, why not celebrate the birth of the Son of the True God on that day too, right? So that’s what the Church did. They made compromises to God’s law, including changing the day of worship, when it meant that more pagans would be willing to join the Church. Look in their book that tells all their beliefs–it’s in there.
