WOW! I am so happy to see that someone else thinks the way I do. I am white and I do not tan. I’m not willing to die to have dark skin. God gave me what he gave me and I am proud of it. I love me for who and what I am and appreciate the fact that I am different from everyone else. There was a time when creamy, white skin was seen as beautiful, not that dark skin isn’t beautiful (heaven knows I’ve seen many beautiful black men. lol.) And by God, I’m going to keep my bright, white skin!

I guess it has something to do with the fact that the high school I went to was mostly black, but I am not intimidated by a black man on the street. I am intimidated by anyone on the street. I hate to admit this, because it’s not the best way to judge, but I look at what a person looks like and their behavior towards me. You have to be aware of you surroundings, but don’t assume that every black man wants to date a white woman. And it isn’t fair to assume that they all want to attack you either.

I feel like with all the laws we have now days, many white people just spend a lot of time wondering wether the black person working next to them got the job because they qualified or because the company needed to make a quota. Not that they feel the black person isn’t smart enough. Just that it may not have been based on the black persons intelligence. I personally would find it insulting if I got a job based solely on the fact that I am a woman and not because I am qualified. But I do believe that the new equal opportunity laws have played a big part in that piece of discrimination. It’s just a shame that we still have to base a persons worth on the color of their skin.

Perhaps it was just that the white woman thought she was better suited for that particular man than the woman who was with him was. Not that she thought that because she was white and the other woman was not, but because she thought she was more like him based on personality. I have found that for the most part, the people that I know don’t look at black people and think, ‘hey there’s a black person.’ It’s more like, ‘hey, there’s a person.’
