I found basically the same statisitics are Nelson did. While blacks wont outnumber whites anytime soon, within 100 years, non-whites will outnumber whites in the US. Some whites are afraid of what will happen when this is the case, but I don’t think there is much to worry about. It’s not as if non-whites will take over and strip whites of any political power they have. We have worked very hard to create equality in this country – obviously the country isn’t perfect and there still is racism and discrimination, but we are working on it. Just as many of the anti-discrimination laws were created to help ensure non-whites have equal opportunities, when whites are no longer in the majority, those same laws will help protect them from discrimination.
