Lindsay22709ParticipantPeople who are ‘handicapped’ are only as much as they wish to be. I am deaf, and my son and daughter are deaf. But if you think this in any way stops us from doing what we choose to accomplish, you better think again. There are people all over the world who overcome their disabilties. First, it doesn’t take any talent to sit in a corner and suck your thumb. What does take courage is to take the cards you are dealt with and play them well. My children at your age could read at college level. NO BRAG (OK, maybe.) Besides that, where is it written that, disabled or not, you can’t accomplish your heart’s desire? The one thing I have learned is that the only person who can stop you from your dreams is YOU!
