There is a case of a baby boy having an accident while having his foreskin trimmed and losing his penis. The doctors did a ‘gender reidentification’ on him and he lived as a girl until around 14 or 15. He never felt like a girl, always wanted to do boy things, and as soon as he found out about the accident, he went as a man once more. Now he has a wife and lives a fairly normal life. I think the book about him is called ‘as Nature made him’.
