I’m a white teenager, so I can’t speak for African-Americans, but in general I think there is a lot of pressure for black women to look like white women. Many of the African-American women who are models, singers, actresses, and figures who are in the public eye a lot, have more ‘white’ facial features. Straightening their natural hair would go along with this, I think. That’s just my take on it.
