LeroyMemberAt the time that the NAACP was formed, ‘colored’ was the term used in reference to black people which is why it has been associated with us the most. The name obviously hasn’t been changed since that time but the politically correct name for ‘colored’ people has. I hope this clears up any confusion.

LeroyMemberI, personally, do not feel that all white people hate me but I am cautious. There has been approximately 400 years of racial injustice in this country and to believe that it has all been wiped out in a span of 50 years or so is ridiculous. The only thing that forced attitudes to change is the law but that doesn’t mean that everyone will change their personal views. Another thing to think about is the KKK. Just because they aren’t as noticeable doesn’t mean they are gone. If they aren’t wearing their sheets in public that means they are hiding right in front of our faces and with the sudden move to want to reverse affirmative action it becomes harder to deny. In order to keep guard, we sort of have to overreact. Just in case.
