    If you’re still dependent (financially or what have you) on your parents, you may not want to tell them, if you think they will react negetively. It may sound a little dishonest, but… Your parents seem like they would be less dogmatic because they did switch religions, so maybe they would be understanding. Take it slow. Don’t pull it on them all at once. Think of it from their perspective – this is a big shock for them, especially if they you were raised in a religious household. Maybe even wait a few years until you are out of their household. good luck
