I’m not in that situation myself, but I think I can understand why a bisexual person might want to do that. From what I observe, homosexuality is the more ‘accepted’ form of ‘alternate lifestyles’. So, I guess to avoid being seen as even more ‘queer’ than the general homosexuals, they announce that they are one because they do have an attraction toward the same gender. I hope you understood that rambling.
