I, a white male, am not threatened by any educated minority for my job position any more than I am by a majority. I strive to perform to my ultimate capabilities to keep my societal position regardless of the competitors. I am, however, offended by a black (as well as a purple, yellow, green, perry-winkle) person who expects to be offered a crutch because of his color. Indeed, I lament to see a minority offered a full-paid scholarship, not because of his achievements, but because of what he supposedly could have achieved but did not because he was burdened by the prejudice of his peers or the inferiority. Such an offer is not fair to any human being who has infinitely suffered a formal education and is expected to pay for his college because all of his superlatively-strived-for scholarship money has been GIVEN away.

I have had quite an impressive amount of experience withe Mexicans and I know exactly what you are talking about. Mexicans love to have fiestas with all their ‘cuates’, especially the immigrants who live in the United States. Allow me to explain a common circumstance: They are here and their family is there. They have no one to go home to except for the other people that live in their trailer/apartment building and they want to get their fiesta on. What do they do? Exactly like you said; go to the mini mart and everyone brings beer or a dish, they have a barbecue, talk, and party the night away.
