KarenMemberSetting aside the argument of how Christians generally view homosexuality, I’m going to give you my perspective, as a Christian: Whether one believes being gay is against the Bible or not does not give one license to discriminate. Somehow people have managed to turn Christianity into a beast. Believe me, I am a fundamentalist, but my eyes and heart are not closed to others. Jesus still loves – and would not discriminate against – homosexuals. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying Jesus would support or advocate being gay, just that he would love the person. I disagree with the act of homosexuality, but I don’t hate gay people. As Christians, it is our mission to let people know our beliefs and why we believe them, but we can’t start playing God. If Christians believe homosexuality is a sin, then we should remember all sins are equal in the sight of God. If you are a true Christian and really want to do God’s will and bring people to the Lord with the plan of salvation, what needs to be done is to speak the truth in love. Meaning, tell people what you believe and why, but in a kind way. It’s their choice to believe or not, even with the issue of being gay. That’s why God gave us all free will.
I hope and pray that people realize the relationship God intended for men and women was only for men and women, not men and men or women and women. I won’t discriminate against gay people as people, but I will not support laws or fundraisers to support gay marriages and such because that would go against everything I believe in. I’m sorry. So, no, homosexuals shouldn’t be discriminated against any more than any other group for getting jobs, etc., but that doesn’t mean I support it at all.
