In my church we read the Bible constantly so I would know the answer. Also I have studied and read the Quran and know why Muslims don’t like pork. The reason behind this is not that they (Jews/Muslims) think there is something in the pork that will harm them but the symbolism of it. In Leviticus, God told Moses and Aaron the laws of sexuality, morality, etc. In this God portrays pork as ‘unclean’. Many Christians would not smoke or even touch marijuana, it is not because it will kill them on the spot or harm them immediately but because of the belief that ‘drugs’ are malignant to the body. The same belief is practiced by the Muslims. If your religion told you that eating something is not seen as pleasant to your God and is described as ‘unclean’ why whould one eat that?
