Let me first say I am not East Indian. You say it 'seems' that Indians 'feel' they are superior. How do you know this? By the sound of your comments, I'd venture to say that in your experience, you haven't met more than a handful of these people and couldn't list even one as a friend or anything more than a casual acquaintence.

If you want to see a 'Miss White America pageant', just tune in to the Miss America pageant. I think it is safe for me to say a very great majority of the women represented are white. Conversely, there will be very few black women or other women of color...and that's exactly why it's cool for the Miss Black America pageant to exist. 'Black pride' is a vehicle for black people to celebrate their accomplishments, beauty, culture and whatever else, in a society that grossly underrepresents, misrepresents, or ignores them. 'White pride', on the other hand, in my opinion, is unnecessary in present day America. Whites aren't underrepresented or ignored.

Although I've never been to Canada, I feel qualified to comment as an Asian-American immigrant. First, I gotta say that being rude or unfriendly to others is not part of any Asian culture that I'm aware of. I think it is fair to say, however, that many Asians tend to be introverted or 'shy' or 'quiet', and that is atleast partly attributable to culture. As for your assimilation question: I think most young immigrants, or children of immigrants, quite naturally want to assimilate to their new culture, and usually do so quickly. However, assimilation is not the same as acceptance. I think the main reason that alot of Asians, especially in a college setting, tend to gravitate toward each other, is not because they are still clinging on to their native cultures, but because they know they'll be accepted by each other and not judged by how they look.

This is a response to the comments made by 'white male who earned his degree'. So you may have met a few unsavory people of Indian heritage in school, but to generalize the behavior of a few and hold it against an entire group of people is simply ignorant.
