I can’t say that I speak for all white people, but damn, life would be really boring if you didn’t shake it up a little now and then. Maybe because we live mostly in the ‘burbs and life is pretty dull there. Without the occasionally life-threatening activity we just might go insane. I also think that these kind of activities, especially for men, are kind of a bragging right. A reason to stick out your chest. It gives you the feeling that you have conquered something, have overcome an obstacle, and of pride in oneself.
